Terms of Use
In short: delsub is a free tool provided as is. The tool processes your subtitles locally and they remain yours, you are responsible for how you use the result, and you agree not to misuse the site.
Agreement
These terms apply to delsub.app and its pages, including the guides. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
The service
delsub is a free web tool that converts subtitle files (.srt, .vtt, .sbv) and pasted text into readable text. The processing happens in your browser. The site may be changed, improved, interrupted or discontinued at any time, in whole or in part, without notice.
Your content
The files and text you load are processed on your device and are never sent to the operator of this site. We do not store them, see them or claim any rights over them.
You are responsible for having the right to use the subtitles you process and for what you do with the result. Captions and transcripts are usually part of someone else’s creative work: publishing a transcript of a video you did not make may require the creator’s permission.
No warranty
delsub is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Automatic cleaning can remove or merge text in ways you did not expect — for example, the roll-up rule drops a line that the next line repeats, and a line identified as a sound cue is removed. Review the output before you rely on it.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the site, including loss of data or content. The tool processes your files locally; keep your own copy of the originals.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- interfere with the site’s operation or security, or attempt to access it in ways other than through its public pages;
- send automated requests in volumes that burden the server;
- generate artificial traffic or ad clicks, or encourage others to do so;
- use the site for any unlawful purpose.
Third-party services
Google AdSense is configured for the home page and individual guides, but advertising is currently disabled pending consent verification. Any later ad display also depends on Google’s site approval, ad availability and applicable consent choices. It measures aggregate visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. If advertising is enabled, Google’s advertising and consent services may use cookies, identifiers and visit data. These third-party services run under their own terms and privacy policies; the Privacy Policy explains their role and the consent controls. Local subtitle processing describes the tool’s code, not isolation from other scripts running on the page. Links to other websites are provided for convenience, and their content is the responsibility of their owners.
Intellectual property
The site’s code, design and text, including the guides, belong to the operator. You are welcome to link to any page and to quote short excerpts with a link back to the source. Your files and the text produced from them remain yours.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated when the site changes. The date at the top shows the latest revision, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
